The answer to the mystery of who will be in this year’s Rip Curl Cup will be revealed on Sunday, June 30 as the 16 surfers will be announced and Rip Curl kick off the opening for the 2019 Cup at Padang-Padang. Eight of Indonesia’s best along with eight of the world’s greatest barrel wranglers will be on hand at Sunday’s gathering. The Opening Ceremony marks the start of the one-month event holding period, which runs for the full month of July. Meanwhile, the local trials will conclude on Friday, June 28 as they determine the final four remaining Indonesian surfers to be invited to the main event. A very large and powerful swell is forecasted to hit Bali on Friday so stay tuned for an excellent day of surfing to complete the quarters, semis and finals of the local trials.
