The Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia, Djauhari Oratmangun announced to the guests at a diplomatic reception in Beijing last night that Bali was open to foreign tourists.
“Bali has reopened. Please come and have some fun,” said Djauhari. according to Tempo. The statement was greeted with applause by the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Jianghao as the guest of honor at the event and hundreds of other guests.
The day after Bali opened foreign tourist visits on October 14, 2021, Djauhari Oratmangun also conveyed the same message at the “The Colors of Indonesia” event in Shanghai. On that occasion, he invited local residents to travel to Bali.
The Diplomatic Reception of the 76th Indonesian Independence Day is a routine event of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing which usually takes place in October or November every year. Various art and traditional culinary performances enliven the event.
After Djauhari Oratmangun gave a speech and invited guests to come to Bali, they then toasted and cut the yellow rice cone. Djauhari gave the first piece of yellow rice cone to Wu Jianghao.
Bali is one of the favorite tourist destinations of the Chinese people. Before the pandemic, every year around 2.5 million Chinese people came to Bali and other tourist destinations in Indonesia. Currently, the Chinese government does not prohibit or impose any special restrictions on its citizens traveling abroad.
The Chinese government still enforces a strict health protocol policy on anyone who has just returned or has come from abroad. And during the Covid-19 pandemic, not a single airline has served the Denpasar – China route.
