In 2026, the Merasa event at Desa Potato Head Bali has evolved into Merasa Origins, a series of three distinct four-day immersions designed to trace the ancestral wisdom of Asia.
Shifting from its previous festival-style format, this year’s “Origins” series focuses on intimate, deep-dive wellness experiences guided by renowned practitioners.
Merasa Origins is a return that traces the ancestral wisdom of Asia’s diverse regions. A tracing back of the everyday wisdom woven through this island and beyond; the teachings and practices that have guided generations – honoured and lived in the present. Merasa Origins explores many questions at their source, guided by practitioners from India, Java, and Bali.
The 2026 schedule is divided into three regional chapters:
India (June 11–14): Led by Reema Datta, focusing on Vedic philosophy and the balance of solar and lunar energies.
Java (September 24–27): A study of the Jawadwipa ethos, emphasizing ritual as lived practice and quiet introspection.
Bali (November 19–22): Guided by Sedana, an intuitive healer, this chapter explores the spiritual map of Balinese life and includes traditional melukat (purification) rituals.
Participants stay within the “Desa” (village) and engage in activities like breathwork, sound healing, and movement. While the larger-scale music collaborations of previous years (like Erykah Badu in 2024) have set a high bar, 2026 leans into a more contemplative, educational journey into the “roots” of wellness.
