Last weekend we stopped by the Bali Fashion Trend fashion extravaganza at TS Suites Seminyak, in the old Jenja vicinity, to check the latest designs coming from the local Bali and further afield designers. We found the first night was not the busiest, but they got steadily busier as the weekend went along. Saturday night’s shows were rather packed. The organisers and most designers were very pleased with the show and response from the attendees. And then, before you know it, it will be time for BFT 2025! TS Suites is by far the best venue for such a show. Well done to all.
I had the pleasure of joining a media trip on The Shivanna sunset cruise out of Benoa harbour last Wednesday. They were showing off their latest addition, which is a below-deck bar and seating area. They told me the sunset cruises were secondary to their charter trips, which are generally heavily booked, and the sunset cruises can only be arranged periodically. For example, this month they only have two sunset cruises organised as the rest of the time the boat has been chartered for private events. Business must be good! One of those cruises is a singles night. Now that should be interesting!
Meanwhile, Franky Baffa was out on the high seas too last week with his Dragoon boat. They too are concentrating on the more lucrative charter business. The one off event/cruise last Sunday was well frequented and looked like a hellova wild party with Baobab Chic behind the decks.

A couple of big shows are coming up and not to be missed. Foster the People will be banging out a DJ set in Mrs Sippy on Saturday October 26 and then Potato Head has UK producer DJ, Jamie XX on his worldwide In Waves tour on 28 December. Both are surely bound to be great shows!
I don’t really like to talk or whinge about traffic laws too much, but I am getting really fed up with the totally blacked out windscreens and windows a lot of people use on their car nowadays. It’s not only dangerous that you can’t see what’s coming ahead, but I’m pretty sure those drivers can’t see anything around them at all, either. They may be totally chilled inside with the AC pumping and feeling very cool about their lives, but man, it is a pain in the backside and while I hate to say it, since I am one of the great libertarians, there should be a law against it!
Let’s hope tensions cool in the Middle East and we don’t have any more major escalations in that part of the world. I’m sure they don’t need it, and we definitely don’t. I’m also sure everyone needs a little space of their own to live in peace, it wouldn’t hurt too much to give it to them. Peace to them and to you all, too.
Watch out for the October Fest event at South East Brewing in Kerobokan over the weekend and there is a whole lot more in the clubs too! Check the events page right here on the website. Check for the link below, or is it above?!
