As I have said before, there’s nothing like a fancy dress, or even just putting a hat on. Fancy Dress Party, that is. I went to a special 50th birthday party the other night, “Happy birthday, Damon!” and had the pleasure of mixing it up with a bunch of older, and perhaps wiser, Seminyak residents. One of those attendees, Jess, mentioned we should have better quality photos on the email.
Besides being totally knocked over that there was someone that actually read this email, I had to point out that I am no influencer, and I don’t have a team of staff following me around with cameras taking shots of my every move, or even a decent camera (so annoying to carry around), but it’s just me and my trusty Samsung. Or a friend that has a shot we need on their camera, but unfortunately even worse than what we normally have, but it’s all we have. We try to find the best pics to post on the site, for sure, but I must admit, sometimes we end up with something less than perfect―kinda grainy, even blurry, which is a total shame, but you could also say, not too far from our own reality. Life is not a perfect beast and I don’t think the perfection that is always portrayed around us on social media captures the real world, let alone the world I live in. Maybe it is their world and I’m just missing out on something. But anyway, Jess, warts and all, here we are. And it’s all in the name of fun, lessgo!
After the house party and way too much booze (please drink in moderation), Red Ruby beckoned with friends arriving from around town to finish themselves off in the ‘home of house and techno’ in Petitenget. I went to meet them. It was another rammed night at Stardust, the regular Saturday night show at RR. However, when I saw there was no sofa in the offing I had to bail out. Nowadays, the long shift is just not the same without somewhere to sit. The foot does not help. Call me old fashioned, just plain old, or even downright broke, but man, without the table, life is just not the same in any club. Of course, I will have to save my hard earned poker chips and get my own table next time, coaxing the ladies of the night into the realm of plenty, like a fancy villa in Beverly Hills, it’s all overpriced and glamous real estate, but not tonight my friends, not tonight. Once again I went home alone.
