We spent a splendid afternoon/evening at the new day or river club, The Jungle Club in the southern Celuk area of Ubud last Sunday. It is a beautiful spot, with layered terraces that go all the way down to the river, with plenty of comfy sofas and daybeds all about. The DJ roster is second to none in town, mostly because Jungle Club is the sister ship to Tropical Temptation Beach Club on Melasti Beach, which has already been making waves in the beach club world since opening last year with quality clubbing sounds, both international visiting DJs and locals alike. Jungle Club looks set to do the same with a massive Grand Opening on Sunday, September 22, with melodic techno giants, Goom Gum behind the decks. Don’t miss that show.
We have received serious complaints recently about the current state of the ‘Sausage fest’. Apparently the sausage fest is happening all over town and it’s not a lot of fun – for the dudes, anyway. Maybe it’s a blast for the girls, but still, there does seem to be an imbalance. What I mean is that you can walk into a lot of club rooms nowadays and there seems to be a lot of men, and not many women. The complaints are coming fast and furious from the Canggu area more than any. What do you think, is it true?
Meanwhile, Red Ruby, the home of house & techno, is breaking out this September with a bunch of top notch nights and DJs on the way. Look out for Ant Schillaci and Nukewood on 20 September, Randy Seidman on Saturday 21 Sept and possibly the biggest one of all, Matthias Tanzmann on 27 September. If you like your underground dug deep, make sure you get to these stand out shows and book a ticket right now. Remember to use THEBEATBALI discount code for 15% off those tickets.
There’s a new club opening soon in Batu Meja area. I took a look the other day and if the underground is your thing, you may be in the right place. Built completely underground, the venue will surely be well soundproofed. The club is actually built directly under their new restaurant, which will be opening at the same time, and in front of their multi villa resort at the back. Soundproofing is obviously important. But the underground doesn’t stop there. The music is slated to be from afro, organic, house to techno. To begin with they will only be opening two nights a week; Wednesday and Saturday. There is a massive parking area out the back too, so no need to fret about where to put your car. GOA Nightclub will be opening early October.
Also, October wouldn’t be Oktober without a massive Oktoberfest in the offing. This year all the lovely beer drinkers in town will have their moment to shine with South+East Brewing rolling out their Oktobeerfest once more. This year there will be more breweries on offer, more music, and more food at their Kerobokan headquarters. There is a special offer for punters to buy beer coupons in advance at a cheaper rate. You can get 3 tokens for just 150K, but hurry, they are only available until September 20. Get on it now. Click for more details.. bit.ly/Oktobeerfest24
If you haven’t already checked it out yet, we have a new Guestlist and Discount Ticket page on the website. This time around it actually works, and you should try it now and get on the freebie gravy train courtesy of The Beat Magazine!
