Last Saturday we went along to the charity dinner and chef competition at Bali Beach Glamping in the Tabanan area. It is a long way up there even from Berawa, let alone further afield, but many people made the trip even after torrential rain smash the west coast that afternoon. The Global Xtreme Hemingway Chef Cook Off is by far the best and biggest charity event on the island and it is a credit to organiser and principal at Right Reasons Charity organisation, DJ Denton and his team. Make sure you all continue to support their efforts in helping the disadvantaged people of Bali.
Last night we had an invite from Jonathon from Shady Pig to try some of his newly launched cocktails and menu at the new bar on the corner of Jalan Pantai Berawa and Raya Semat– that very busy intersection next to the Lapangan field. All round excellent fare and there’s no wonder that the bar is getting busier eevery day, but as Jonathon says, he would prefer folks to know that it is still a quality bar, not just a party spot, and open with great, inexpensive quality food on offer from 7pm.
