Editorial. This week in Bali.

Late Open Air last Saturday night was probably one of the best party set ups I have seen in a while. It was up at Nuanu Amphitheatre and they put a lot of effort into it.

The carpets rolled out over the grass looked good and were soft to the touch. The big beds to lie around on were quite fun and the stage and sound was all round, super good. Being a Russian style event, the music was very downtempo, as they are known to enjoy so much. You end up getting your ruskie sway going as the music and quality DJs take hold. The music and the event itself was very cool. The bracelet payment thingies were typically a pain in the backside (ofc, I’m not a fan at all) and of course, I forgot to cash it in at the end, so once more the payment company ends up fleecing me – fortunately not much. Ohh well, such is life. I always counter those losses in my mind thinking how the money would have just meant more drinks, more drunk, and I probably wouldn’t remember it, anyway. Great night at Late. We look forward to their next event and I believe there will be a future club up there in Nuanu. More about that soon.

Speaking about getting messy, this week has had its messy challenges. A visit to Steve at Tropicana late Wednesday afternoon to discuss some biz things turned into an all in push to alcohol obliteration once more. My haircut appointment was cancelled because of the weather (electricity blowing out). The haircut was supposed to have been after the Steve meeting, so drinks started to flowing freely, and of course, I immediately forgot I was supposed to be at a dinner media event in Canggu after the haircut. Thus, the entire evening turned into a mad night of drinks mixed with sudden and dramatic downpours of rain. What a wild night, culminating with a mad dash thru the rain back to Berawa on the bike. Next morning, I remembered I was suppposed to have been at the restaurant media event the night before. I sent a Sorry, but no reply. Ahhh, what to do? I should stop doing such things on Wednesday nights, of course, but hey, it is part of the job. It must be Mercury in retrograde this week, though, as I still can’t manage to get a haircut…

Have a good weekend you all!
