Editorial. This week in Bali.

Another week of little influence passes by….. You get that this time of year, but last night, right out of nowhere, I was invited to a fashion shindig at Shady Pig Canggu by the promoter extraordinaire, Julia Putri. It started early and it was a fun event celebrating a local fashion magazine called F People. A trunk show was presented by Elice Seymour and Komang Tri and a song was preformed by the delightful Ira Khayz. I believe they were launching their new magazine in Bali – but don’t quote me on that – and had changed the name from Fashion, or Fabulous to First Class, obviously directing the focus to a well-heeled readership. Well, I must say, that is a brave stance in this social media soaked world (launching a magazine), but maybe not. Maybe there has been such a revolt against the online world that print media will make a come back – it’s hard to image anyone paying for it, though. One of the highlights last night was the abundance of old Seminyak crowd along for the ride – as they have always done so well over the years. Some people I hadn’t seen for years. It actually reminded me a lot of one of those amazing fashion shows at 66 Club, back in the day, maybe 25 years ago. A great evening and I was home early enough to get this fine editorial and email out on time this morning. And that’s always a good thing.

Photos Above: Random shots, particularly of an evening that turned into a long night with some friends from NZ, starting with a walk around the night spots of Petitenget. Quite a fun way to check out the bars. Reminder to oneself –  don’t take people who are into Afro house to Pinik, it doesn’t fly!

Have a good weekend you all!
