Trev Chee held his birthday party at the stylish Analogue Listening Space on Sunset Road last Wednesday, which was next level fun. As well as turning 43, he was also launching his long desired music project called Magic Lamp Music Lounge. Great times with old friends, and we will have to wait and see what the project delivers.
Meanwhile, there is more ‘bottle adulation’ going on everywhere you look. I am really getting fed up with this whole thing of worshipping the bottle. Passing thru the crowd with an entourage of disciples holding the bottle up high as if it is some new vessel from god is just getting downright boring. I wish there was some way around it, but as a friend pointed out, it does appear to be part of our nightlife culture now. He told me to read up on the financialisation of previous pursuits. Some people appear to be consumed by the appearance of power in all its forms, including looking like a dick with a bottle and entourage of wannabe friends. It could be time to get over it and relax a little with the bottle, but I am sure it will go on for some time yet. Another possiblity is I’m bitching on about it because I can’t afford it! Indeed, that’s also an unfortunate possiblity.
