Editorial. This week in Bali.

Sometimes I need to look at my phone gallery to recall where I’ve been in the past week. I’m sure you do too. We had Ms Penny in town again last weekend and she was out entertaining a visiting friend so it was on for young and old once more. First stop was a delightful dinner at ShiShi. Besides the entrance area and restaurant downstairs looking more like Sky Garden every day, it must be said that the dining there is exceptional. The free flowing dishes were all of the highest standard and it was an all-round total value for money experience. We then went to Iron Ferries down the road and had a blast with the Who’s Your Daddy crew on the decks. The place was busy and ideal for the early party starters. Good times! Next day we found ourselves at The Orchard with my old friend Edward’s band, Balian releasing a new EP and bashing it out live on the back street Legian stage.

The impromptu bagpipes that kicked off the show just added to the experience. Congratulations to the band. Who said rock was dead! Later that night we were back at Sardine for their The Gates of Bali Grand Opening party and it was packed. They had all their DJ collectives taking turns to spin their style of music, which created quite the vibe and great idea, brought in all their fans. Yes, the place was packed, maybe a bit too much!   Sunday we were at W Bali for their special W Presents launch with JOPLYN (pictured above). A nice set up with the visiting Berlin local swooning us with her hypnotic sounds right by the sea. Lovely evening. Speaking of Hypnotic, later we popped over to the new Tropicana bar and disco upstairs at Seminyak Square. Some of you may recall Hypnotic bar and club at the same location some 10 to 15 years ago. Well, Steve is back and this time it is called Tropicana! It’s now open softly, try it out this weekend!
Well, since then, I have been hit by the second, or even third bout of the same flu. An evil flu that keeps coming back. So now I’m on antibiotics and taking it easy but that doesn’t mean it is anything less than full steam ahead for you!

There is always so much going on around this island. It’s crazy. Check the Events pages above for what’s on this weekend.
