Not much you can say about the weather lately, besides try to be happy when the sun shines. As I’ve said before, I can’t recall such a wet start to the rainy season. This year is the wettest ever many can recall. But anyway, that’s life and as we do, we keep on going.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve were busy all over town, pretty much as busy as ever. And since then things have not slowed down. This weekend in particular is very busy with a stack of shows on in all the hot spots. Check the event listings on the beat update for this weekend.
The big event last week was Pak Kadek’s 66th birthday, which intentionally or not, became a 66 Club reunion for all of Bapak’s family, friends and asssociates over the many years that he has overseen operations of one of the biggest companies on the island. The event was held appropriately at the Rooftop of the Double Six Hotel in Seminyak. Hallowed ground indeed above the site of Bali’s greatest club, closed since 2011. It just seems like yesterday all roads led to Double Six.
Many a good time was had by all back then, and again last Friday night. Getting home was a little sketchy, though. Thanks to Cecile for helping out.
