The Ubud Village Jazz Festival is back on the island after five consecutive years of tremendous Jazz. This year’s event will be held on August 10 & 11, hosting two days of festivities at Arma Ubud, where all types of jazz will be heard. Starting from 3pm – 11:30pm, the festival will harbor both locally and globally known figures of the jazz world in hope to encourage and promote national jazz artists, give a platform to perform and above all, to enjoy the joys of listening to jazz legends such as Indonesia’s Idang Rasjidi Syndicate and American Benny Green Trio, who are among the headliners of the festival. Other acts include the young Korean fusion band, A-Fuzz, French band, Insula, who blend modern Caribbean jazz with Arabian/Andalusian harmonies, Australian composer and vocalist, Emilia Schnall and Vienna’s famed trio Triple Ace – Colours in Jazz. Expect an enriching experience with mind blowing jazz, food and entertainment! Also, on April 29 in the lead up to the festival there will be a Youth Band Competition held at Plaza Renon, so if you are a band wanting to be heard or just want to check out some young talent, we will see you there!
