Rip Curl Cup Opening Ceremony this Sunday

The world’s best tube riders are ready to gather at Bali’s most hallowed wave on Sunday, July 1st for the Rip Curl Cup Opening Ceremony. All are welcome to attend the traditional festivities at Padang Padang to bless the event with good waves and pray for the safety of the competing athletes.
Among the international surf stars receiving one of the coveted Rip Curl Cup invites are Mason Ho (HAW), Jack Freestone (AUS), Damien Hobgood (USA), Gearoid McDaid (IRL), Bruno Santos (BRA) and Jack Robinson (AUS). Among the eight Indonesian surfers invited are defending champion Mega Semadhi, 2X Indonesian National Champion and 2X Rip Curl Cup Champ Lee Wilson, and 2014 champ Garut Widiarta.
The Rip Curl Cup Opening Ceremony marks the start of the one-month event holding period. The celebration will begin promptly at 3 PM, followed by a meet and greet with the surfers and contest organizers. The evening will conclude with a traditional Balinese Kecak dance performance.
All media wishing to attend this event may RSVP to media@ripcurl.co.id by Friday, June 29th to secure their credentials.
