The R.O.L.E foundation have been hard at it since the start to 2020 with their Eco Surf Rescue program holding a beach clean up with over 100 eager participants on January 11. Despite the downpour that happened in the morning, there were lots of smiles involved in collecting 182kgs of non-organic waste. R.O.L.E have also further opened their grounds to the public, offering a tour of their workshops and offering a heap of environmental education. Alongside the educational Saturday morning data, R.O.L.E have realized that there is a need to focus on educating the local communities, as most of the participants of the clean up were local school children and locals who were unaware of the importance of a beach clean-up and the impact plastic has on our environment.
