A Three-Day Immersive Celebration Inspired by Japanese Mythology, Ritual, and Fantasy.
Miss Fish Bali announces the return of its biggest signature event of the year: MATSURI Festival, a three-day immersive celebration taking place from Thursday, June 11 to Saturday, June 13.
Inspired by Shinto mythology, traditional Japanese festivals, and fantasy worlds of ancient spirits, MATSURI transforms Miss Fish into a cinematic shrine-like universe where gastronomy, performance, music, and visual storytelling come together in one unforgettable experience.
More than a dining event, MATSURI is a full sensory journey. Guests will step into a dreamlike Japanese setting featuring bonsai-inspired installations, pagoda elements, shrine details, and koi fish suspended above the ceiling, creating the feeling of entering a mythical festival hidden deep within an enchanted forest.
“Every year, MATSURI becomes our most anticipated celebration,” said Winda Puspita, Marketing Manager of Miss Fish Bali. “This edition is designed to feel transportive — a world where Japanese tradition meets fantasy, where guests can dine, celebrate, and experience Miss Fish at its most theatrical.”
The Experience
Across three nights, MATSURI Festival invites guests to experience a rich world inspired by the spirit of Japanese ritual and folklore. The venue will be transformed through dramatic décor, immersive lighting, atmospheric sound, and live Japanese-inspired entertainment.
Guests can expect a celebratory program featuring Taiko drumming and curated Japanese performances, alongside Miss Fish’s signature high-energy evening atmosphere. The experience begins with a refined culinary journey and evolves into a vibrant late-night celebration.
A Special MATSURI Culinary Journey
For the festival, Miss Fish presents a specially curated menu that blends Japanese precision with modern global creativity.
The menu opens with a Tuna Roll featuring smoked tuna tartare, crispy seaweed cylinder, and yuzu gelée, followed by Hamachi Tiradito with Japanese amberjack, strawberry vinaigrette, and salsa jengibre. A warm course of Kuruma Ebi brings butter-poached Japanese king prawn with cocktail sauce, lime foam, and herb oil.
The sushi selection highlights Kaisho Maki, Nigiri, and Otoro Temaki, featuring fish of the day, seaweed, pickled radish, Japanese bluefin tuna belly, and negi. A refreshing Pickled Consommé follows as a palate cleanser before the main course: Prime Tomahawk with burnt cauliflower purée, chimichurri, and gobo chips.
The experience concludes with Pineapple and Port, featuring caramelized pineapple and port wine ice cream, followed by Butter & Umami, a dessert of croissant gelato, salted butterscotch, soy reduction, almond crumble, and raspberry.
A Festival of Myth, Flavor, and Celebration
MATSURI Festival is designed as Miss Fish Bali’s most expressive annual event — a celebration of atmosphere, storytelling, and shared experience. From shrine-inspired design to Japanese entertainment and a special tasting menu, every element is curated to bring guests into a world where ancient spirits, sacred rituals, and modern nightlife meet.
