Indosole, the most responsible footwear company in the world have created a new technology that you can now see for yourself at Potato Head’s Ijen Restaurant. After a year of developing the idea, Indosole can now grind tires into a fine powder in which they mix natural and recycled rubber to make their new 40% recycled tire soles. This allows the brand to save more tires from landfill and use all of the tire in this new process. With this technology and their long-standing friendship with the Potato Head Family, Indosole has now released their first product that is not footwear. Ijen is the first restaurant in Indonesia to follow a zero-waste philosophy. The design of the restaurant incorporates details such as menus printed on sustainably harvested paper bound to boards made from recycled truck tires and recycled rubber. The new concept is a leading example of both of these companies aiming to become a circular brand with absolute minimal impact on the earth.
