Balinale is the International Film Festival held annually on the island celebrating independent and unique films from Indonesia and around the globe. The film festival will take place on September 24 – 30 and will feature over 100 short, feature and documentary films from 30 countries, opening with “Sultan Agung” (pictured left) and close with Shoplifters, which aired at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or. To explain the business aspects of the film industry, a forum will feature Ody Mulia Hidayat and Chand Parwes Servia from Indonesia, as well as Taiwanese producer and Taipei Film Festival director Jeane Huang and Broadway producer and Tony Award-winner Jhett Tolentino. Tickets can be purchased through Cinemaxx online or at Cinemaxx Box Offices (Lippo Mall Kuta & plaza Renon).
