The Waterbom Bali produced, ground-breaking new documentary “Balancing the Waters” will be helping to raise awareness about the rapidly increasing fresh-water reserves crisis affecting Bali. It is no secret that there are some serious environmental issues on the island, but the rapid disappearance of fresh water could pose the biggest threat to us all. According to the IDEP Foundation, the water table in Bali has dropped over 50 metres in less than ten years. With the remaining fresh water Bali does have being heavily polluted by saltwater intrusion and the tourist development the island has seen year after year. It’s about time we wake up and help to make some serious changes. A private showing of the film will be held at Waterbom this weekend, and the documentary is then set to tour the world’s festivals and possibly programmed on environmentally concerned TV channels.
