My friend and I were in the search for a new ambiance to enjoy for the day and decided to head out to Sanur for a leisurely swim and a nice white sand beach hang out then walked around and explored the surrounding area.
We spotted Roca with it’s standout wooden terrace and decided to stop by for lunch. Situated at Artotel’s front lobby, the restaurant offers such a laid back atmosphere, just exactly what we needed.
We were impressed by the wide selection of food and beverages they offered and decided to go with Penang chicken curry Rp 85K, Green Goddess Salad bowl Rp 85K, Salaktini cocktail for myself Rp 80K and my friend got himself the Lidah Buaya cocktail Rp 80K. We also pre-ordered Dulce De Leche Chocolate Tart for dessert Rp 65K.
First of all, our drinks were beautiful – both in presentation and taste, my salaktini made out of vodka, triple sec, pineapple and cold pressed salak juice (snake fruit). The tangy mixture of dry gin, asam manis, aloe juice and tonic in my friend’s Lidah Buaya was just as refreshing. I personally loved both.
The Penang chicken curry was presented very nicely, with chicken drumsticks braised in coconut and spices went deliciously well with the roti canai it was served with, delicious and rich in flavor. Our Green Goddess salad bowl was amazing too. This bowl of goodness consists of yummy jackfruit fallafel, avocado, sorghum grains, almond dukkah, spinach, kale, cherry tomato topped with delicious yoghurt dressing – this might be my new go-to salad, so delicious!. The breathtaking Dulce de leche chocolate tart was served last and from the moment I took my first bite – I knew my life was complete. It tasted superbly rich!
Roca’s all day dining experience offers a southeast Asian culinary concept in its homely ambiance with beautiful decor. You can find a variety of sandwiches, pizza and pasta as well as Indonesian classics such as Sop buntut, rawon and different types of Nasi goreng in the menu amongst many others to choose from. Their drinks menu features an even wider array of wine selection, craft beer, cocktails and more.
Don’t miss out on the All You Can Drink Beer Selection with live music every Thursday night 6-8pm for only Rp 150K nett. Free Flow Cocktails and Canape from 6-8pm for Rp 125K and Buy 1 Get 1 for all cocktails from 8-10pm. You might want to try Roca’s Lidah Local, an Indonesian street food buffet with a live acoustic band every Monday 6.30-10pm for Rp 175K/pax (15% OFF for booking in advance).
What a lunch to remember. Beautiful food, atmosphere and service. We sure did enjoy and look forward to our return. Oh and remember, Roca is open 24 hours!
