Prego @ The Westin Bali

Kicking off a new series of Beat Sunday Brunch reviews is Westin’s Prego restaurant. The popular Prego Family Brunch is now better than ever with a new name and fresh concept.

There are few things better in life than Sundays and brunches, so when the two are combined you’re definitely onto a winner. With a heap of places around the island to indulge in this most gluttonous of weekend rituals, competition is certainly fierce, but the Prego Sunday Brunch at the Westin sets itself apart by being fully geared up for all the family. For the last three years they’ve been putting the fun back into weekend dining, and now they’re changing things up to make family time even better.

A fun program of activities is laid out to keep the little ones entertained for hours, meaning the grown ups get to kick back and enjoy the extensive spread and free flow drinks in peace. The outdoor garden play area is quite literally a wonderland for kids, where they can try their hand at all manner of fun shenanigans, all the while safely supervised by the experienced team from Westin Family kids club. Prego mascot Pipo the Squirrel also pops in for photo opportunities while the resident roaming magician wows the tables with a hatful of amazing tricks.

Instead of just a regular ‘all you can eat’ buffet, Prego offers a semi a la carte menu, where selected dishes are prepared to order at an open-plan kitchen. Think antipasti, salads, roasted meats, pastas, pizzas and regional specialties meaning all tastes are catered for. Italian Chef de Cuisine Alessandro Molini is on hand every Sunday to oversee authenticity, while the dedicated dessert station ensures kids (big and small) get a huge choice of sweet treats including cakes, crepes, homemade gelato and even cotton candy.

A trifling IDR 360k ++ per person for the brunch includes a welcome glass of Prosecco, with free flow soft drinks and signature iced teas, or for an extra IDR 200k++ you can enjoy free flow beers, wines and selected cocktails. The best part is that kids under 12 eat for free (up to two per family), and if that isn’t enough, there’s complimentary access to the resort’s premium swimming pool, so don’t forget your bathers!
