Mya Kitchen & Cocktails

We arrived at Mya Restaurant on a drizzly afternoon and we sat at the front bar for a while watching a few visitors playing pool and the people moving in and out. Feeling refreshed after an ice cold coke, we then moved to the airconditioned main room inside as we were ready to taste something tasty and warm.
Lamb shank rendang was up first, it was quite big – I thought initially. Meat was nicely cooked, juicy, falling off the bone tender with a rich rendang flavor. I had to pick every little bit of meat left on the bone and still wanted more. Yes, it was that delicious!

Beautifully served next was the grilled whole snapper in salt crust, which comes with dipping sauce that tasted like rujak sambal. This perfectly balanced the salty skin part of the fish, and this too tasted beautiful – we totally left the whole plate clean, except for the bones – of course.

Mya has a wide selection of cocktails, wine and spirits to pair with both western and Asian dishes to choose from the menu. From Vietnamese prawn rolls and Bahn Xeo for starters, a taste of Balinese traditional soups such as Garang Asem and refreshing Thai green papaya salad. They also have Bebek betutu – Balinese traditional slow cooked spiced (half) duck for IDR 75k and IDR 145k if you opted for whole duck. A range of fish and curry dishes are also available to try, as well as noodles and rice bowls.

In case you’re in the mood for a classic cheese burger, Mya offers quite a selection of burgers, grilled meats and sweet treats you would definitely want to try. Who loves freaky shakes? I do!

Try Choco Monster Inc from their Freaky Shakes menu, delicious chocolate ganache mixed with chocolate gelato and full cream milk – though it’s pretty big size is designed for sharing, I’m not sharing mine.
Don’t forget, from noon – 3pm everyday you can enjoy a pretty sweet deal of all you can eat a la carte lunch for only IDR 175k nett per person.
