Jamie’s Italian

This visit to Jamie’s Italian has been a long time coming. Since it officially opened to diners in 2015 – three years later, I finally made it!
While we were in Kuta shopping in the middle of the day, my lunch partner and I walked past and decided to enter the two-storey restaurant. We were welcomed with a warm smile from the staff who guided us upstairs to the air-conditioned area. We settled comfortably at the cozy table as the temperature finally shifted to cool.

Located right at the heart of Kuta’s most famous entertainment area, this celebrity chef family friendly restaurant is open everyday from 11am – 11pm serving you all time Italian favorites from Jamie’s famous planks of antipasti, a selection of pastas, artisan pizzas, and mains that include herby lamb steak, the Jamie’s Italian burger, Chicken al mattone and much more. Sides of your choice are also available.
And Oh… they have quite a novel kid’s menu presentation to please the fussy taste buds! Plus kids will have so much fun choosing the food through the view-master toy.

The drinks menu loaded with a substantial white, red and rose wine selection, cocktails and mocktails as well as beers and soft drinks.
I was totally in need for something refreshing, so I decided to give Jamie’s mojito a try while my partner opted for a pina colada. Jamie’s Mojito (white rum & Martini bianco with lime juice & sugar syrup, topped with Prosecco) was the perfect kind of refreshing beverage I needed.
The mushroom fritti we ordered from their starters menu was served along with cured and crispy fish on their famous planks. First of all the mushroom fritti was out of this world delicious, the portobello mushrooms were crispy and super tasty – this alone to me was definitely worth the visit!

We then started digging in to the plank of goodness. We both loved each assortment on it – the cured salmon was fresh, the steamed mussels were tasty, and I especially couldn’t get enough of the perfectly smooth and tasty salmon patè – the plank was a flavorsome way to start.
Our mains arrived next, and the peperonata pizza and my Gennard’s mixed grill was looking real good – my partner’s crab spaghetti looked pretty darn delicious too.

Gennard’s mixed grill was sensational and totally recommended, the herby flash steak was tender and tasted wonderful, free ranged pork & fennel sausage was terrific and chicken was cooked to perfection with smoky chili ketchup that totally balanced everything to its best.
I had a taste of my friend’s crab spaghetti which was divine too. Their chefs make the pasta fresh daily – no wonder their pasta had such a great texture and consistency. The pizza was good too, topped with chargrilled peppers, caramelized balsamic onions, olives, ricotta and rockets – we left no slice uneaten and were still excited for dessert!
Our slices of heavenly cheesecake and tiramisu desserts were the perfect choice to end our delightful meal. I can’t rave highly enough of how good our lunch was.
I say Wow Jamie!
