We walked passed Hoi Polloi in the Double Six area of Seminyak and decided to stop by for some nice refreshing drinks as the space looked very inviting and super cozy.
Hoi Polloi is a kind of beer paradise. Imported craft beers from around the world are beautifully displayed right behind the bar in not only one but six taps.
We asked the staff for a recommendation on a great drink and besides all the variety of tasty crafted beers, she recommended their newest cocktail called The Jealous Lover Rp 100K. The mixture of Citadelle gin, Campari, lemon juice, housemade bitters and eggwhite foam made this cocktail kinda dry, bitter, but also sweet – just as described in the menu. We loved it.
Aside from the great selection of cocktails, wine and of course, craft beer listed on the menu – Hoi Polloi also has a great list of delicious looking meals to choose from, we were intrigued and decided to stay for lunch, and we were glad we did.
We ordered Marinated Olives Rp 30K, which came in quite a generous portion and tasted absolutely amazing! Cerignola, lecinno, kalamata & gaeta olives beautifully marinated with fennel, chilli, orange peel & herb oil.
Came next was the Yaki gyoza Rp 55k, which I was totally blown away by – this Japanese pan fried pork & ginger dumplings with soy and rice wine dipping sauce were golden brown and crispy on the outside, plus juicy on the inside, and of course was real tasty! Just as perfect as a Gyoza can be. We both went crazy for them!
Sticky ribs IDR 70K and Garry’s pizza Rp 110K was served next. The mouthwatering Baby back ribs were insanely delicious, juicy and tender, brushed with a gorgeous blend of honey, hoisin and sriracha glaze. The pizza with bacon, pork belly, cherry tomato, spinach, egg toppings was beautiful too, especially topped with some extra chopped chili Rp 10K, yum!! Other extra toppings for your pizza such as mushrooms, mozzarella, meatballs and more are available for an additional cost.
If you come between 5-7pm, you can get yourself a free pizza with any beer bucket purchased, free pizza also comes with every two heavy handed draft pours purchased on Friday! 25% OFF all craft beer on Saturday 5-7pm and Upsize Sunday offers you a free upsize with any standard draft pours purchased between 3-6pm on Sunday!
Such a delightful lunch deserved a delightful dessert and the lovely staff recommended their dessert special: Chocolate espresso Brulee Rp 50k, and it didn’t disappoint! It was creamy and the crunchy sugar coating on top was yum… It almost felt like Valentine’s Day came early!
