Well established as one of Bali’s hottest all-in-one venues, Cocoon Beach Club offers a chic mix of delicious dining, funky music and luscious lounging.
Truly a multi-purpose club, Cocoon offers something different depending on what time of the day or night you happen to drop by. A relaxed and informal enclave for poolside wining, dining and grazing during the day, Cocoon transforms itself into an atmospheric dining venue in the evening, the stylish décor and flickering candles creating an ambiance that is perfectly complimented by the newly overhauled menu.
Classic Western-inspired dishes sit alongside the freshest seafood creations and Mediterranean fare, with plenty to choose from for breakfast lunch and dinner. New on the Cocoon agenda is a lunch special menu – essentially a scaled down version of the full size one, but here you get to pick two courses for a trifling 199k++. Yep you read that right, for about 20 bucks you can choose either a starter and main or a main and dessert, which considering the caliber of the Cocoon fare ain’t half bad. With that in mind, I decide to bring the Mrs along for a cheap lunchtime date, kicking things off with a couple of glasses of the extremely reasonable Barefoot Sauv Blanc (65k++/gls 330k++/btl). There’s nothing like a chilled glass of white on a hot arvi, particularly when paired with some top end fruits de mer, and so for the starters we share out a plate of the butter-soft House Cured Salmon. The tangerine vinaigrette is the ideal counterpoint to the spiced crème fraiche, but it’s the addition of slivers of snakefruit that really gives the dish its pop.
Another glass of the Barefoot handles the interlude, before we dive into the mains – my date going for the Pan Fried Barramundi with capers and tomato salsa, while I can’t get past the burger, with it’s posh bacon, melting Swiss cheese and Dijon mayo all adding up to be an absolute sensation. Back on sharing mode for the sweet course, we divide a Chocolate Brulee – a good choice as it turns out thanks mainly to the unreal salted caramel ice cream. We stick with the wine for the rest of the afternoon (shoulda ordered that bottle!), although if you’re a cocktail kinda person you’ll be well covered with literally a massive selection of tipples.
With food that delights, surroundings that entice and music that excites, Cocoon Beach Club provides a sleek and stylish experience from the word go.
