Date For 2 : Starfish Bloo

Starfish Bloo at the W hotel Bali is one of the most serene, comfortable restaurants to dine for lunch in the Seminyak area. With its wide beach view, quiet atmosphere and well versed, tentative staff, your experience is bound to be one to remember. We commenced our meal in the cozy bamboo cubicle (above) with their signature “Hot Rocks” (a personal favourite), searing thinly sliced salmon (180k) and wagyu (220k), cooking them to our preference on the heated stones provided. Next came the Slipper Lobster Tempura (90k), Kung Pao Chicken Noodles (150k) and Wagyu Brisket Buns (220k), all of which had a certain Asian feel to them, combining the freshness and simplicity of highlighting the main ingredients made all of these dishes 10/10.
Starfish Bloo’s concept revolves around Pan-Asian cuisine, basically merging the East, West and everything in between, but when it was time for dessert, we almost fell off our chairs. Out came a trolley with what looked like a mad scientist behind the wheel…that’s when the magic happened. He created The Dark Chocolate Mousse, Rasberry Liquid Nitrogen (125k) by dipping the chocolate bomb into dry ice and moulding it into what looked like some sort of sea creature, then adding the surrounding condiments. A perfect way to end our date and highly recommended for you lovers our there! [Text: JW]
