Date for 2: Karma Beach Bali

If you are looking for a perfect beachside date, look no further than the pristine waters of Karma Beach. Where the unparalleled views of the Indian Ocean meet a decadent menu, fine tuned to fit the summer beach club vibes and accentuate the incredible seafood available in the area. Upon arrival, stylish couples and families populate the up-scale restaurant of Di Mare, which overlooks the ocean from the cliff above. Get your entry ticket for Rp.650k (Rp350K food/beverage credit) and either walk down the 240 steps to the beach or descend via the travellator that slides quietly through the monkey-filled forest to the crystal-clear sea below.

The mesmerizing scenery of Karma Beach can be appreciated from all angles of the resort. The views from the seashore, cliffs and from your seat give you that picture-perfect, romantic getaway feeling. To go with that sensation, they offer an extensive menu featuring guilty pleasures, fresh seafood and a few dishes to get you feeling in the right mood!

We started with some freshly shucked Oysters (160k), crispy Calamari (145k) and a divine Snapper Ceviche (145k), alongside a healthy detoxifying juice and a kelapa muda (coconut juice). The view of the Oysters resting on their plate with the clear blue water just a stone’s throw away is a sight to behold! Karma Beach represents that Mediterranean, laid back Greek vibe, honing in on the serenity and easy-going style. This ethos can be seen throughout the menu and sets quite a beautiful tone for a date. We continued our journey with some classic beach-club bites such as the Dynamite Sushi (200k) and the Rock Shrimp Pizza (290k), which then led us to the exciting grill section. We feasted on the 300gr Local Lobster (375k) and Sea Salt Crusted Whole Fish (385k) which is baked then de-crusted in front of you, leaving an extremely moist and tender piece of fish for your savourable enjoyment.

We were left with almost no space after that incredible feast… But luckily, I had a second stomach reserved especially for the dessert we were about to indulge in next, my date however, was sprawled on the floor begging for mercy. I ordered the Rolled Baklava (145k) and the Portokalopia (105k), both of which have a Greece heritage and we couldn’t have ended our Date for 2 on a sweeter note!
