Bingin Ombak Warung

This charming beach café sits directly on one of the most picturesque Bukit beaches – Bingin.

The Bukit is home of Bali’s best white sandy beaches, great surf and laidback vibes. Formerly a sleepy peninsula it has seen new cafes sprouting like mushrooms in recent years, but Ombak predates all that. Look, Warung Ombak is a Bingin institution, it was the first ever warung to open on the beach, then called Warung Made. It got a facelift and a new name in 2012 and now is one of the absolute must visits and for good reason.

It’s family owned, kid friendly, with relaxed, chilled vibes: as one of the owners poignantly puts it: “If you’re not barefoot, you’re overdressed”. It’s an all-day hang out and one of the best spots to watch dreamy sunsets, while sipping on ice cold beer and next level cocktails.

Bingin Ombak has an elaborate, crowd pleasing menu with remarkably good food. If you are a breakfast person, then you cannot miss their giant pancake stack. It will send you right into a pleasant food coma. Plus they’ve got a plethora of options for the food conscious as well – hello smoothie bowl and smashed avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs. Then there is bacon and egg roll and many other savory classics. Splash it down with fresh juice, a healthy smoothie or Kombucha or get your caffeine on with the frothy Cappucino.

There is nothing better than having dinner and a beer while watching the technicolor Bali sunset and this is where it’s at. You can take your pick: feel like homemade Pizza, Mexican or finger food? Perhaps a generous burger? Craving some local Indonesian specialties? They got you covered.

You can also enjoy fresh seafood BBQ nightly, daily happy hour and popular live music Thurdays and Saturdays. Plus, if you feel like you don’t want to leave, the good news is, you don’t have to. They also run an Airbnb. There is nothing quite like falling asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves.

If you want a quintessential Bingin experience, Warung Ombak is an absolute must visit.
