Bali Electronic Music Collectives: TRIGGER

The Beat checks out the undeground electronic collectives on the island/ Episode 4

is a DJ collective based in Jakarta and Bali with a huge celebration coming up — celebrating their 15th year with some of the most prominent DJs in the Indonesian electronic music scene. Starting 15 years ago, the Trigger crew were a true revolution in the Indonesian music scene. What spawned from a fashion label started by the late Raudia Kepper to creating the now famed “Trigger Crew” with each DJ and MC showcasing a different style of music and skill that ended up being recognized globally and establishing their presence and performing in Australia, Malayasia, the Netherlands and all over the Indonesian archipelago.

Trigger was founded by some of the most skilled entrepreneurs and DJs on the island – Fadi, Mikey Moran, Stan and Raudia. They currently have 33 DJs and MCs spread across Bali, Jakarta, Bandung and Australia with names like Stan Mamudi, Goodgrip, Stevie Stibbs, WW, Lola Tesca, Justeen, Mahesa Utara, Geramar and Goatee to name a few of the most well-known. The Bali DJs are regulars at clubs like LXXY, Mirror, Shishi, Vault, Lost City, La Favela, Old Mans, The Lawn, Omnia, Café Del Mar and Mexicola so it’s most likely you’ve been listening to their tunes at some point in your partying time in Bali.

Here is what Stan had to say about the 15 years in the game – “15 years in the industry here ain’t easy but we made it. 15 years of late nights and wild parties with our DJs that have made you dance the night away. We drank until we dropped with you, made and nurtured friendships with you, shared your birthdays, reunions, celebrations and heartaches with you. Everything we did, we did for You and with You”

Their 15th anniversary parties will kick off on Friday, February 28 in Jakarta at Swillhouse & Fable and then Saturday, February 29th at Vault and Mirror in Bali! Make sure to celebrate this momentous occasion with the famed Trigger Crew! And here’s to another 15 years to come!
