Bali Electronic Music Collectives: Escape

The Beat checks out the undeground electronic collectives on the island/ Episode 3

One of Bali’s most current and prolific house music collectives, Escape Presents have been making big moves all around the island ever since their relocation from Sydney, Australia in mid-2017. Kaiser Waldon and Scotty Cal along with a troop of local and international resident DJs have been uplifting the Balinese house music scene with an ethos that combines sexy, deep and melodic house & techno with good vibes to create a space for party-goers to “escape” their every day life and enjoy the present moment with friends and like-minded groovers.

With now multiple residencies around the island, Escape have established themselves as one of the major party brands in hyped areas like Canggu & Uluwatu. They are well known to provide consistently good house & techno events with international headliners such as Yousef, Doorly, Edu Imbernon, Robbie Lowe and Anjuna Deep’s Westseven to name a few. Escape have come off an intense high season with the Wednesday nights at La Brisa solidifying their position in the scene thanks to a string of epic events all throughout the season. Keeping the momentum going, Escape have some very outstanding residencies at the moment including Omnia, Vault and soon to be Old Man’s, not to mention pop-up parties in Uluwatu and the Gili islands.

Their Escape family consists of founders Kaiser Waldon & Scotty Cal, plus their residents Wisdy, Lloyd, Pete Santos, Mitchell Wick and others. All of whom have the same common interest driven by their shared values; enthusiasm, open mindedness, passion, and last, but not least – a true love of house music.

Catch the Escape crew at their next event at Vault with headliner N.O.X. from Paris on Thursday, February 29.
