Roots
Silky is a DJ, producer and radio host specializing in deep underground house and techno hailing from London, England. Silky’s depth of knowledge and appreciation for the roots of house music stems from his youth, where he became engulfed in electronic music – at the time, in his local area, it was still a genre that wasn’t “the norm”, but he stayed ardent in his love for house and techno, following his heart to become a DJ. Mentored by the “Godfather of House”, Frankie Knuckles, Silky got off to a flying start with his productions being continually supported by Frankie himself. His tracks were the spark for his career, forging Detroit house and techno with hypnotic underground house, techno and tribal grooves – attracting clubbers, international music aficionados, peers and features on leading dance magazines such as M8.
