Roots
Before hitting the big time with Indonesian Idol, Judika had to go through countless singing competitions in his hometown in North Sumatra, as well as in Jakarta. He has been singing since a young age, and at one point, he formed a vocal group with his brother and friends, earning their living by entertaining guests at a local hotel. He followed the stint with a first place win in a provincial-level singing competition before grabbing third place at the national level. In 2005, he joined Indonesian Idol and came out as the runner up.

Where you might have heard him
His rise to fame earned him a spot in several movies which are Si Jago Merah, The Tarix Jabrix 2, Crazy Love, Air & Api and Toba Dreams. The first movie won him the title of Best Newcomer at the Indonesian Movie Awards in 2009. Meanwhile, his singing career shifted to higher gear when Ahmad Dhani, his long-time fan, took Judika under his wing, making him the lead vocals in the Indonesian band Mahadewa.
Notable tracks
With much public support after the competition, Judika quickly got his career rolling with his solo album called Seri Cinta in 2005, followed by One in 2007. In 2013, he released Mencari Cinta, containing the first single titled “Mama Papa Larang”. In 2015, he released The Best of Judika, featuring a new song and 13 of his best songs, including the hit “Mama”.
Why see him
Not only does he have a unique voice, Judika has also established himself as a performer on stage who knows how to please his audience. See him live at Boshe on June 24.
