ROOTS
James Zabiela was born in England, Southampton on August 7, 1979. He has been in the DJ game for a long while and produces some of the best breakbeat known to man. Back when he was a kid his father asked him to help him out at their family’s record store. James agreed and spent his entire holiday there, absorbing whatever tunes his father collected like a sponge. Out of his love for computer games, James tried and tested many Pioneer products and implemented it creatively during his sets, earning him a nickname of the technical prodigy, a great expectation that he still lives up till today.

WHERE YOU MIGHT HAVE HEARD HIM
James Zabiela popped his Balearic cherry by warming up for Sasha at the place regular Ibiza partiers calls Inside At Space. Wowing the crowd and We Love boss Darren Hughes with two hours of snappy, synth-fixated, breakbeat action, it was a defining moment in his DJ career. Two years later, he became the club’s new bi-weekly resident and has now been there for over a decade. James also helped Pioneer Electronics develop their top of the line CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 media turntables. 2014 saw James complete his twelfth year at the We Love…Space parties as a resident. He continues to travel across the world whilst his Born Electric label signed music from the likes of Hot Chip, Midland, FaltyDL, Cloud Boat, Tin Man, Scuba, and Serge & Tyrell
NOTABLE TRACKS
Despite his constant touring, Zabiela finds time to remix and create pieces of art such as his remix for Sasha “How Do You Do?” and “The Healing” for Born Electric. Aswell as managing his label. 2012 saw him release “The Healing” under his born electric label.
WHY SEE HIM
From young upcoming star to truly talented Disc Jockey, James Zabiela is in his peak years and is continuing to grow as a DJ and producer. Don’t miss his debut at Double Six Rooftop next week. Be there on May 14 and get those good vibrations flowing!
