James Trystan | Friday July 1

Woo Bar | Friday July 1
Roots
UK DJ and producer James Trystan, half of the duo Filth & Splendour and label head at Itch Recordings is a definitive force to be reckoned with. James has reached a new goal in terms of popularity around the world with a fresh palette of musical influences that lurks in the deeper, more atmospheric waters, whether it be his releases on his label or his records on labels such as Fukai, Dojo and Twisted Frequencies, his power to keep the dance floor lit is one that many don’t have.
Sounds
Tech house, techno, house
Where you might have heard him
The four-time Beatport top 10 artist has bounced into the underground house world with no mercy. Already a key member of the crew at Great Stuff, 2015 saw James join Seamless Recordings after his amazing collaborations with Barber from the UK. His ability to weave unique vocals into sheer club sounds is second to none and continues to boost his name in the scene. Throughout the last year, Trystan has got the attention from headliners such as Him Self Her, Henry Saiz, Steve Lawler and Kris Davis
Notable tracks
His most recent notable track would be his EP “Walking Giants” – a trippy slice of his newer atmospheric style, released with killer label, Bedrock. A weapon that Digweed himself has been regularly playing at peak-time for months. James’s incredible remix discography continues to grow with reworks of Swedish Karin Park (Fenech-Soler), Warner Bros (Fenech-Soler), Columbia (The Klaxons) and Nettwerk (Ghost Beach).
Why see him
James Trystan has been in the game for a while now, but it feels like after his tour across Asia he has found enlightenment and has developed a sound that is slowly taking over the techno and house scene. Deep synth driven tracks, layered with subtle emotive riffs and snarling basslines – what else would you expect from a DJ playing at Woo. Get moving, his gig is on Friday, July 1.
