DJ Story #2: DJ Archie | Indonesia

Hi Archie, when did you become a Bali resident DJ
I was a resident DJ in Jakarta for years before I moved to Bali and had my first residency at Mano Beach House in 2016.

Tell us your background in music
I grew up listening to jazz, old school hip hop, beats and boom bap; I was infatuated with drum and bass a lot too. I played lots of drum n bass growing up. Then I discovered soul, funk, and disco along the way when I was digging for the original samples of beats that I liked and the crate digging went from there.

Favourite styles to spin?
I don’t really have a preference to a specific style, I like to just let everything flow at the moment. I trust my ears and I just kind of play.

Current Bali residencies
Potato Head Beach Club, Manarai, Mano Beach House, and Paddy Grooves Radio.

(complete the sentence) .. “I love to play in Bali because ….”
… I live here and I love doing what I do.

Thank you Archie, See you around the island. Where can we follow you?
