Autograf | Sunday May 22

Roots
Hailing from Chicago, Autograf is made up of Louis Kha, Mikul Wang and Jake Carpenter. Joining forces through a common affinity for art, these three humble dudes first put their talents together at a gallery exhibition where they created an installation. However, it was their similar musical proclivities which then lead to their paths converging. The three-piece outfit launched onto the scene in 2014 after their chilled-out remixes of artists like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder racked up millions of plays.
Sounds
House, nu-disco
Where you might have heard them
Autograf has just finished their Metaphysical Tour throughout North America, playing from Webster Hall in New York, Groove Cruise in Miami, Exchange in Los Angeles and Q Nightclub in Seattle, to The Hoxton in Toronto. They have also appeared at several festivals, including Coachella, Shambhala Music Festival and Lightning in a Bottle.
Notable tracks
Since their first remixes, they have flipped tracks through other remixes like Lorde’s “Team”, Pharrell Williams’ “Gust of Wind” and ODESZA’s “All We Need”. In 2015, they released their first original track titled “Dream”. The youtube track has since tallied over one million streams. A month later, they dropped the electronic disco “Running”, followed by the tropical-flavored “Metaphysical”. The trio has recently released their debut EP titled Future Soup. Inspired by Andy Warhol and his creation of the Campbell’s Soup remake in the form of pop art, this brand new EP contains five original tracks which exhibit Autograf’s very purposeful style. This EP includes “Future Soup”, Heartbeat”, “Slow Burn”, “Horizons” and “Ocean Glass”.
Why see them
With their artistic backgrounds, this trio has left their mark within the scene, combining self-made props and some of the best aspects of future and tropical house. See them live at Woo Bar on May 22.
