Sprout Cafe

When this cozy, home-style café sprouted on the right side of Canggu, aka Berawa, all the expat families rejoiced.

It shares the building with a preschool, so this makes it a perfect place for all the mummas to catch up over their much-needed coffee while their little ninjas zip around the dedicated kids’ corner.

Sprout is another brainchild of the brother team behind the popular Seminyak venue Sacred Ground, and we gotta say that they have done it again – this time with a more health oriented offerings.

Their modern Arabesque style menu boasts original culinary inventions you won’t find anywhere else.

The champion Grazing Board completely won us over, this haloumi centered dish is designed as a share plate, but is also completely satisfying as a solo meal.

Absolute superstars of Sprout Café are their mega salad bowls – a definite must try is a Trio of Salads, you pick any three super fresh salads from their menu and they toss it into a big bowl for you. Great value, great taste.

For carnivores we couldn’t recommend the Sprout Steak Sandwich more; tender, juicy Australian beef rib eye in a culinary “marriage” with beetroot, cabbage and radish. We promise this creative combo will make your taste buds dance.

Coffee is a big deal here too, as the owner duo sampled beans from all over the world to finally come up with their own Empirical house blend. This special combination works brilliantly in espresso as it offers full, intense flavor, yet also enough complexity that allows the blend to extract perfectly in milk heavy coffees as well.

When in doubt, go to Sprout, they offer consistently great dishes with a big focus on flavor in a bright, modern, airconditioned space dominated by a large colorful wall mural.
