Editorial. This week in Bali.

We are back with another Beat email and editorial, and it is the Easter long weekend. Happy Easter to you all. Did you miss us? Who can say.

There has been a lot happening lately with first, Nyepi, birthdays and then Idul Fitri holidays over the past weeks. Now the workers are coming back from their long stays away, heading to the kampung for the break and slowly things have been getting back into work mode. But hello, next week is Galungan, so there will be another three day break. Ohh well, we can’t complain having holidays. Happy Galungan to you all!

Anyway, there is plenty on around the traps this weekend as school holidays are in full force and visitors are on their way to the island – I guess. There have been a lot of people complaining of the lack of tourists on the island over the past few months since Christmas. That could be from the abundance of bad press the place seems to get nowadays, and espeiclaly suring the rainy season, but could also be from a general global economic downturn. Let’s see what happens from here.

Check out the events this weekend in The Beat Update email or The Beat events pages inside the site. And have a great Easter weekend whatever you get up to.

Photos above are from around the place over the past few weeks including a few birthdays, Mine, my son Papu’s, and Nigel Mason’s.
