It was a huge weekend, last week, or Saturday night, at least. There seemed to be big shows on everywhere. We made it to La Brisa and Red Ruby and had a ball with my dear, old trouble-maker poseé. La Brisa had such a cool vibe, and not just in a metaphysical sense, but also in the physical way―it wasn’t stinking hot, without a breath of wind, as it can be, because it actually rained for a bit. Lola Palmer played a great set until it went a bit flat, but hey, it was definitely fun, and then Fabe got on and did his thing. We then went over to Rubes for a Saturday night bash to the extreme, as one does, with visiting DJ, Tom Kenzler. Many an old buddy was there and the place was a rockin’. Fortunately we got out in time as I recalled I had to get over to Damasta for their Sunday Roast Dinner the next early evening. Man, the roast dinner was exactly what was needed after a big Saturday out. We had a chat and a laugh their with Chef Jonesy, who has a lot of tales and cooks up a damn good roast. Give it try next Sunday!

Gee, the amount of dodgy people on-line nowadays is getting outta control. Yesterday, I was trying to buy some Onduline sheeting to make a canopy, found a place through Google, contacted the mobile number from the listing and asked for the details. I went thru the whole deal of ordering the materials, they sent an invoice, and they said they wanted cash in advance. Hmmm, red flag. The number appeared to be associated with a building supplies store I had never used before, but not far away from my place. So, I went to check the toko. The guy at the counter checked the invoice and shook his head saying, “That’s not one of our invoices.” They didn’t know anything about it. Lucky I didn’t fall into the dodgy dude’s sticky trap. You have to be careful with these rip off idiots, they are everywhere on line – a good practice is to never send a payment before you know the seller or see the product. I checked the Google listing again later and the listing is still there, but the number is gone. I also tried to report the listing and what happened to Google. Impossible. All I can say is, Buyer beware!
Have a good weekend you all!
