Sandwiched between now mega busy Canggu and touristy Seminyak, Umalas remains surprisingly on the more quaint side with its narrow streets dotted with cute cafés and small shops. Scrummy is the newest addition to this fam.
Hot tip here: they’ve got make your own meal part of the menu, where you can just check the box for whatever tickles your fancy. You can go all out and create the biggest brekkie of all time or design a full vegan meal. It suits all tastes and budgets.
Another big draw here is their bakery. If you’re not on the team glutenfree your taste buds will be absolutely delighted by the freshness and fluffiness of Scrummy’s baked goods.
Must try is their croissant. So soft and light, it will literally melt in your mouth. They also make their own delicious cakes and have got vegan sweets as well.
The café has an outdoor porch outfitted with a bright mural, from which you can people watch and take in the reasonable amount of action going on in Umalas, without feeling overwhelmed. Or if you’ve had enough of melting in the heat, head inside to an enclosed AC section.
