Editorial. This week in Bali.

There were some big shows last week all over town for Halloween with loads of people dressed in great costumes. Savaya, Tabu, Sardine, Red Ruby and more. People really went to town on the costumes this year. Crazy. But I’m pretty sure I saw many of the same costumes trotted out from one big show to the next during the week or two of the festivities. I don’t think there is actually anything wrong with that, because without them there wouldn’t be much of a show, or party. I wonder how much prize money they actually took home. At a quick glance, there appeared to be somewhere between Rp 200 and 300 million in cash and prizes being afford during Halloween. Not so shabby. No wonder they were out in droves – I should do it myself next year!

So the big election just came to a resounding conclusion and I am so happy that it was a landslide victory. I think that was the most important thing. In the end, a clear cut victory either way was what was needed to get things moving in the right direction again, and not be so polarised as it has been in recent years. Another interesting thing about that election was how the podcast became the clear winner in the media stakes. Legacy media will be shaking in their boots, if they weren’t already, as it was clearly shown that being on SNL, or other TV shows, paled significantly to being on Joe Rogen for example. She didn’t need to do Joe, right? But politics aside, all I’m hoping for right now is less wars and healthier people. Let’s hope that happens ASAP.

This weekend, look out for the two Frenchmen in town, who we have spoken quite a lot about this week. Dorian Craft and Baron (Fr) will be doing their thing in Sardine on Saturday night and Le Bleu on Sunday. Darin Epsilon will be at Red Ruby on Saturday night. Friday night looks good at Desa Kitsune with one of our Bali old time faves, Sebastien Leger behind the decks. Sure to be busy!
