Following the success of its award-winning spa in Batam, Montigo Spa has now launched its second branch which sits among the lush tropical gardens of their very own Montigo Resorts Seminyak. Stepping into this spa, guests are welcomed with the airy ambience of its reception area, featuring high ceilings and huge glass windows that embrace natural lighting, combined with modern furniture that makes it feel warm. A wall away from this front area is the treatment area, housing six single rooms and two couple rooms, a dedicated room for Thai massage, a relaxation lounge for foot treatments, manicure and pedicure, and two changing rooms with showers, toilets and lockers.
FEEL
The spa has a very extensive menu, designed to spoil their guests, with treatments starting from facials, massages, scrubs, hand and foot treatments, to the traditional rituals, as well as couple and kids experiences. One of the offers is their signature “Montigo Massage” which is believed to relieve muscle tensions and aches through a combination of particular Hawaiian and Swedish techniques to suit guests’ personal needs. After the consultation, enjoying the cold welcome drink, choosing our favored essential oil and changing clothes, we’re led to our room where the treatment began with the foot ritual. Using the locally-sourced sea salt, we had our foot scrubbed and cleansed gently to get us prepared for the massage. Done to achieve and promote relaxation, this signature massage adopted some techniques from the Hawaiian lomi-lomi and Swedish massage which had been chosen and designed thoughtfully by the spa team. It mostly consisted of long strokes, combined with tapping, friction and vibration which were able to melt the stress away, as well as healing the sore muscles. The massage ended with a body rub to remove the greasiness, followed by a cup of warm ginger tea that perfectly rounded out our rejuvenating journey here.
INGREDIENTS
Unlike others, Montigo Spa uses soya beans as the base of its essential oils as it contains a rich vitamin C. There are four aromatic essential oils which guests can choose from such as the sensual oil which mixes ylang-ylang and sandalwood, relaxing oil which mixes chamomile and sweet orange, energizing oil which mixes lemongrass and spearmint, and revitalizing oil which mixes black pepper, ginger and peppermint.
