A deeply soothing spa experience in Ubud

Nestled in a beautiful space on the rooftop of ARTOTEL Haniman Ubud, surrounded by the peaceful and cool atmosphere of the cultural heart of Bali, Kamalika Spa’s location is an ideal spot to escape the packed touristic destination of downtown Ubud. As we enter The Spa room, we are greeted with a friendly smile of the staff and a trendy design interior along with ethnic Balinese adornments. The Spa makes smart use of its not so large space, housing two couple rooms complete with a bathroom inside. While we select the treatment options, a cup of cool lemon tea is offered to freshen up our body.
FEEL
The treatments listed on their menu offer a fusion of traditional and natural elements joined by exotic herb-based products. We chose to try their 60 minute “Kamalika Signature Massage” (IDR 370K). This treatment covers the upper body and legs with its 60 minute gentle massage. After we finish with our consultation sheet, we step into the treatment room and the therapist then started to apply gentle pressure across our back body and leg continued with some message technique with the special warmed Frangipani oil and aromatic agents from Kamalika. The series of massage techniques applied to our body are intended to give a relief of fatigue, and tense muscle pain.
INGREDIENTS
For the Kamalika Signature treatment it is advised to use Frangipani oil for the massage. However, Kamalika Spa offers three choices of essential oils that we can choose ranging from “Refreshing Oil” for deep tissue massage, “Lotus oil” for traditional Balinese massage, and “Frangipani Oil” for the Kamalika treatment itself. The scrubs provided are also varied, you can choose among “Green Tea Scrub” for normal skin, “Coconut Scrub” for dry skin and “Coffee Scrub” for rough skin.
