Aswangga Spa

Look
The room sure looks very couple-friendly since there are only two beds available along with a flower-sprinkled bathtub, and the atmosphere it exudes is definitely very relaxing and intimate. Located in the lobby area of the four-star boutique hotel Vasanti (near their mini gym, so after some intense body-toning activities you can walk across to unwind), Aswangga Spa is relatively new but previously guests can request any of their relaxing spa treatment in the comfort of their own room.
Feel
Great! And by great we mean it’s super relaxing, energizing, and we want to be there longer than the 60 minutes’ time allotted for the treatment. We tried their Balinese Massage which relieved any muscle tensions I’ve had before through the magic of proper pressure points throughout the body and, of course, the mind-soothing aromatherapy oils. The therapist will start from the leg and feet with wonderful long strokes up to the back with nicely calibrated kneading. The face gets a brief massage as well that includes the eyelids, which felt nice afterwards.
Ingredients
Balinese massage is popular for the use of exotically-scented massage oils, and Aswangga Spa naturally continued the tradition by offering wonderfully natural oils like jasmine, sandalwood, ginger, cinnamon, frangipani, and lemongrass. I choose the latter for its refreshing and rejuvenating citrus-y scent.
Magic
A combination of gentle-stretches, acupressure, reflexology, and aromatherapy, the Balinese Massage is definitely an all-in-one package. It works to stimulate the blood and oxygen flow and release your body’s “qi” energy to create—as Aswangga said it better themselves—“a homeostatic balance between body, mind, and soul.” Which are all that really matters, if you ask us.
