As the windy season is upon us, it’s the season of kites! Up until October, Bali’s skies will be regularly decorated with some majestic-looking kites as the kite festivals and competitions will be making the rounds throughout Bali, culminating in the Bali International Kite Festival at Padanggalak Beach in Sanur where teams from the villages (banjars) of Denpasar compete with their giant kites (which can measure up to 4 meters in width and almost 10 meters in length). The 38th Bali International Kite Festival will be airborne starting from October 23 – 25.
