For a more cultured occasion perhaps, head down to Ubud for the 14th Ubud Writers & Readers Festival where aspiring writers (or avid readers) gets to meet professional authors from various nationalities and be involved in many interesting workshops and, naturally, book discussions. This year the literary festival will be carrying the theme ‘Origins’ aiming to remind us of our shared humanity. And even if you’re not a writer, you can still take part in their new Emerging Voice program that also includes designers, artists, and musicians; if you’re still looking for that one shot to publish your work, you’ll get the opportunity to launch your book at the festival when it opens on 26 – 29 October. To know the details, go to www.ubudwritersfestival.com.
