Yo! Noodles

Tucked in next to the Fave Hotel and cutting a distinctive look in bold red, white and black colours, this place is as fuss-free as they come when you’re short on time but big on hunger. The concept is startlingly simple – fast Asian-style street food knocked up in the wok before your eyes. On the menu, the name says it all; expect plates (or takeaway boxes) stuffed full of the best egg noodles in town, flavoured with a mix of ingredients that take in the tastiest offerings from all around Asia. Whether you like it Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian, Vietnamese or Indonesian style, Yo! Noodles has got the lot. For the drinks, fill up on various bottomless cups of iced tea, and for non-noodle heads there is a selection of ban ming starters, succulent soups and delicious desserts including Banana Spring Rolls with vanilla ice cream (25k+), and sticky Rice Pudding (17k+).
Aiming to cover all bases, Yo! Noodles is perfect for eat in, take away or delivery, with last orders at midnight apart from Friday and Saturday, when they flash up ‘til 2am. You can even get them to make up your own creation, with the build-a-box option. Simply choose your style of noodles (kwayteow, miehokian, mietiauw, miebasah, bihun or plain rice) and add in your veggies, meat and choice of sauce for a personal feast you won’t want to share.
On my first test run for Yo! Noodles I decided to do things a little differently, so here I give you the very first food review in The Beat history conducted at my own house. After all, what’s the point of going out? You’ll only end up back home again anyway, so with that in mind, I invite a couple of mates over and ring up the Yo! Noodles delivery line. Less than 30 minutes later and we’re fighting over a portion of the best spicy wings (25k+) I have ever had on this island. No joke. Whatever it is they do I am now officially hooked on these spicy little beauties. The BBQ Chicken Skewers (26k+) also go down a treat, and it’s not long before we’re breaking out the noodle boxes and chopsticks. For our first order, we go for the Mongolian Beef (55k+), Hot & Spicy Pork (44k+) and the veggie Sofyu (42k+) and are not disappointed. Much slurping and slathering ensues, until all the boxes are almost empty and we’re done – popping the rest in the fridge in anticipation of that great life pleasure: Tomorrows cold noodle leftovers.
Not sure what to have for lunch? Can’t be bothered to get up from the sofa? On your way home and don’t want to hang around? Fresh, funky and fun, Yo! Noodles has got you sorted on all fronts.
