Rosso Vivo

Fronting the main drag through Jalan Pantai Kuta, Rosso Vivo has been pulling in the punters for over a decade, thanks to its great atmosphere and top-notch menu.

The distinctive red umbrellas line the outdoor terrace decking area, which is perfect for people watching, while tucked behind, the stylish dining area is open all day for breezy breakfasts, lunches and romantic dinners. A mix of Italian and other Western favourites, the extensive menu and drinks list caters for the whole family – from sandwiches and salads to pizzas and pastas.
New on the agenda at Rosso Vivo is a special lunch deal menu, where you can pick two courses for 150k or three courses for 200k. This epic deal is available every day between 11.30-4.30, and you can choose from a selection of starters, mains and desserts depending on just how hungry you are.

After a sweep of the Beachwalk mall, a friend and I popped down last week to give the lunch menu a go and perhaps tuck into a couple of early afternoon cocktails for good measure. We found a spot to perch at the front and got stuck into a couple of the super-refreshing Mango Margaritas (99k++) while watching the world go by. I don’t find myself in Kuta that often these days, but seated overlooking the beach with a fruity cocktail in hand we both agreed that it’s still a pretty awesome spot to be.

We kick off by sharing out a portion of the Trio Bruschetta, which includes smoked salmon & cream cheese, grilled mushrooms & parmesan, and of course the standard diced tomato & basil. A light pesto dressing adds to the flavour, and we’re soon salivating for the mains, which consists of the Fettucine al Nero di Seppia (squid ink pasta with mixed seafood), and the Quattro Formaggi pizza – piled high with gorgonzola, bechamel, parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella, bocconcini & caramelised onions.

To round off a superb lunch, we split a plate of the Italian classic sweet treat Cannoli – chocolate truffle cream filled rolls of pastry with tangy raspberries on the side. Considering the quality and location, the lunch deal is excellent value for money, but if the evening session is more your thing, make sure you’re there by 7.30pm every day for a dose of live tunes and good vibes.
