New Expat. Roasters Coffeeshop Opened At Beachwalk Mall

Every self-respecting coffee enthusiast on this island has to be familiar with the Expat. Roasters brand by now. What started as a passion project in 2015 grew into one of the biggest specialty coffee producers. According to our picky taste buds, they deliver hands down the most consistent cup of black gold in Bali. They weren’t the first, but they certainly are the best. You might think that’s a quite a claim, but read on: “The perfect bean is a combination of both art and science – recognizing a superior product from the point it’s hand-picked to the myriad of scientific processes that determine its final flavor. It’s a delicate balance of hand, head (and heart),” says Expat’s head barista Shae Macnamara. These guys obviously know what they’re doing, Shae himself has a number of fancy industry awards under his belt, he became an Australian Champion in 2016 (1st place), among others.

They are driven by a desire to produce an exceptional, unpretentious brew, from the ground up, Expat. works closely with Balinese farmers to source the finest local product to complement their nomadic collection of beans from around the globe.

Led by their award-winning head barista Shae Macnamara, Expat. are working relentlessly to foster the burgeoning coffee and barista community of Bali. Their mission is to introduce the culture of making a good brew across the island, one cup at a time.

Do not forget to try their new outpost when you find yourself in the coffee drought of Kuta, they’re brewing at popular Beachwalk mall.
