Music Mondays: Ray Soo

Ray Soo (@raysoo.music) is a world class DJ that we can thankfully call a resident on the island with his fresh, style-defining sound that has rocked dancefloors all over! His label Love International must be checked out but first check out his three favorites as of right now!

1st –Hogi & Fickry – Ratata (Original Mix)

First heard this when Hogi played it at Sunset People Project’s 3rd Anniverary party, where i was on the lineup too. The dancefloor really jumpred when the track came on and especially after the massive breakdown. Proper funk based raw dancefloor House anthem, dirty House music, big vocals and sounds 🙂 Very happy that Hogi who is a very dear friend for 2 decades and an Indonesian House Music Legend agreeed to release this on my label Love International. We managed to get a few really talented artists from Jakarta to contribute remixes inculding Deefo, Maliki and Cyda. My KL homie Joey G and i also did a banging dancefloor techouse remix. Check them out! 🙂

2nd –Se/rio – Rise Of The Phoenix (Cosmic Version)

Part of the latest release on Love International by Bali based Se/rio. I love this track for its spacey atmosphere taking the listener to an alternate universe via its cosmic flowing groove and immersive sounds. A track that takes you feel you’re outdoors, when heard in a club, and vice versa. You can really hear Se/rio’s refined ears in terms of having been listening to/playing electronic music for a very long time, that come through in his productions.

3rd –Reno Renatama – Indecent

When Reno sent me this as a promo i was immediately dancing to the funkiness of the superbly fun bassline of the track, which keeps chugging along an arrangement aimed at the dancefloor, love how he uses the vocals and simple stabs. Simple arrangement, locked in rhythm and highly effective. Reno is is one of the most talented rising dj/producers from Jakarta and i am happy to see his development as an artist over the last 3-4 years since meeting him when he was then entertainment manager at Jenja Jakarta.

Let us know which one of these is your favorite in the comments below!
